INSPIRATION
My inspiration for this season's Melissa Sweet Collection was a delicate alchemy of both historic and contemporary elements. The couture spirit was expressed with chic detailing, flattering cuts and haute couture embroidery. Light and refined fabrics and shapes create a feeling of sensuality and glamour. The line is a perfect balance for the bride who equates luxury with an expression of beauty.

The Reverie Collection was designed with a youthful and modern spirit in mind. Contemporary ready-to-wear influences are at the forefront, but I was also inspired by dressmaker details. Dresses are designed with just the right proportions and cuts to enhance the feminine form. High waistlines elongate, ruffles create an aura of seduction. The result is a contemporary line of dresses that flatter the figure and let each bride express her unique fashion point of view.

TRENDS
This season's bridal trends are strongly aligned with haute couture styling. Slender silhouettes are key, and even ball gowns have less volume in petticoats. Waistlines are high, creating a long lean look that is flattering to all figures. Bridesmaid dresses are continuing to move away from the rigid looks of the past. This season there are more choices than ever, from glamorous eveningwear-inspired styles to softer silhouettes with a relaxed attitude. Just like the bride, bridesmaids want to express their unique personal style and are looking for unexpected details. Accessories are becoming more important, as they provide yet another way to make an overall style statement all your own.
