Ever curious and fascinated by fashion, Kelly Faetanini was one of those lucky girls whose grandmothers' taught her to sew. Inspired by her love of ballet and passion for art, Kelly spent her childhood in Sandusky, Ohio crafting romantic dresses for her dolls and Barbies. Yet, it wasn't until high school, when an art teacher spotted Kelly's natural talent for design and nurtured Kelly into translating her visions onto paper.
Unable to shake her enthusiasm for design, Kelly enrolled at the International Academy of Design & Technology of Chicago, whereupon she explored her fascination to define and develop her natural talents. Kelly's equal love of romance & challenge lent her to discover the bridal market, where she
felt it was a natural fit. It was then that Kelly knew she was destined to be a bridal designer.
Upon graduation in 2006, Kelly packed up her dreams and headed to New York City; aiming to get her foot in the door, Kelly accepted a job as a sales and design representative at a bridal boutique in the Lower East Side. It was there that Kelly interacted with many brides and absorbed what they were searching for in a perfect gown. If a bride couldn't find the exact dress, Kelly offered to redesign to fit the bride's needs; word travelled fast about Kelly's custom designs and soon she began to sell her designs in the boutique.
Energized from her experience, Kelly chose to amplify her career by actively pursuing bridal
design houses. Soon after, the opportunity arose to assist Tracy Uomoleale Epstein on the Priscilla of Boston collection; Kelly leapt at the chance and became a natural asset to the team. Talk of a new collection chattered through the halls of the Priscilla of Boston bridal group and recognizing the talent that existed within its walls, all eyes turned to Kelly to be the designer of their sixth collection.
Jewel, a popularly priced collection aimed at the youthful princess bride, draws references from Kelly's childhood adoration of the ballet, its romantic elegance, and her passion for art. Kelly's aspiration for the collection is to fulfill the bride's vision of the perfect gown for a magical celebration and then some.
